A dream journal that starts with your words.

A dream journal is a record, not a test of how much you can remember. Oniryn gives that record a home on your iPhone.

What belongs in an entry?

A few words are enough: a house, a conversation, the feeling of arriving somewhere. You can write in the moment or choose voice capture. There is no need to make a complete story out of an incomplete memory.

Write, or choose voice capture

Writing is useful for a quick fragment; voice capture lets you speak instead. The updated transcription experience in version 1.0.1 runs strictly on-device using Apple speech models. It can require a model download; devices or languages that do not support it keep the recording so you can retry or write. Version 1.0.1 is awaiting Apple review, so do not assume that updated behaviour in the current 1.0 release.

Keep it, find it, return to it

Saved dreams become a journal you can read and search. Return to an entry, add your own reflections, or export your record to a destination you choose. You keep the original dream even if an optional cloud feature is unavailable.

What is free?

Local saving, reading, searching, and exporting remain available without Membership. Your local journal does not require cloud AI or a journal account. Optional Membership supports continuing cloud reflections and artwork; the app shows pricing and allowances before purchase.

What does “private” mean here?

The journal starts on your device. Cloud features require your permission. Choosing AI reflection means selected dream text is processed by Cloudflare and OpenAI; that processing is not end-to-end encrypted. Optional encrypted sync is a separate choice. Read the full privacy policy before enabling cloud features.

Start on paper, or start here

You do not need an app to begin. Try the free browser journal template, or read how to start a dream journal. If you prefer a dedicated place on your iPhone, download Oniryn below.
